Coral Springs and Coral Glades JROTC teams begin new competition season with several strong finishes
Coral Springs, Florida – The new JROTC competition season is underway in Coral Springs, and two local high school programs have already put together solid performances in their opening events.
Coral Springs High School began its season at the Western Raider Meet, where the Colts competed across several demanding events. The school’s girls team finished fifth overall with 26 points, with the Rope Bridge proving to be its strongest event of the day.
The girls completed the Rope Bridge in 3:40.10, good enough for fourth place. They also finished fifth in the Litter Carry and the Fitness Challenge 2.0, giving the team several finishes near the top of the field.
The Coral Springs boys team finished seventh overall. The group placed sixth in the Rope Bridge and seventh in the Team Run, Litter Carry, Tire Flip and Fitness Challenge.
The Colts also had a notable result from their junior varsity squad. The JV team finished third overall after earning third-place finishes in both the Team Run and Tire Flip.
The young competitors also came close to the top in two other events. They placed fourth in the Rope Bridge and fourth in the Litter Carry, showing that the program had depth across its different teams and competitions.
While Coral Springs High was taking part in the Western Raider Meet, the Coral Glades JROTC program opened its season with a competition at West Broward High School.
The Coral Glades varsity team had several strong finishes, including a second-place result in the Tire Flip. The team also took third place in the Rope Bridge, giving the program two top-three finishes during its first event of the season.
Coral Glades’ junior varsity team added another strong result. The JV squad finished second in the Rope Bridge, providing the school with another podium finish.
For both local programs, the opening competitions offered an early look at where their teams stand as the season gets underway. The events require students to work together while completing physically demanding challenges, with teams competing for points across several different activities.
The results also give the Coral Springs and Coral Glades programs a starting point as they move into the rest of the JROTC competition schedule. With both schools already recording multiple high finishes, the teams will have plenty to build on as more meets are held throughout the season.
