Coral Springs Charter boys golf team finishes in sixth place at the state championship after a standout season

Coral Springs, Florida – The Coral Springs Charter boys golf team capped one of the most successful seasons in school history with an impressive showing at the State Championship, held at the Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills. The Panthers, who had already captured both District and Regional titles earlier this year, demonstrated resilience and skill against the state’s top competition, ultimately finishing in sixth place.
Coral Springs Charter ended the championship tied with Dr. Joaquin Garcia High School at +32, a performance that highlights the consistency and determination of the team throughout the season. The Panthers’ effort reflected a combination of veteran experience and emerging talent, proving that their success at the district and regional levels was no fluke.
Individually, Hudson Fe and Bento Asiss led the team, each finishing tied for 12th place with a combined score of 153 over the two rounds. Their performance set the tone for the rest of the team and showcased their ability to compete under pressure at the state level. Kolton Viveros added depth to the lineup, placing 47th in the state with a score of 161, demonstrating steady play across challenging course conditions.
Other Panthers also made their mark on the championship leaderboard. Easton Viveros finished 50th, while John Buono rounded out the team’s effort in 62nd place. The combined performance of these young athletes contributed to a team result that the school and coaching staff can celebrate as one of the finest in program history.
“This season was incredible for our boys,” said a member of the coaching staff. “Winning District and Regional titles and then finishing sixth at state shows how hard they worked and how much talent we have on this team. Each player contributed, and they should be proud of what they accomplished.”
The State Championship tested not only golfing ability but also focus and endurance, as Mission Inn Resort is known for its challenging layout and well-maintained but demanding greens. For the Panthers, navigating the course successfully required strategy, precision, and teamwork, all of which the team displayed throughout the tournament.
With this strong showing, the Coral Springs Charter boys golf team has set a new standard for future teams, proving that Panthers golf can compete at the highest levels in Florida. The experience gained at state will serve as a foundation for the team’s continued growth and success in the seasons to come.
