Coral Springs City Commission shares a message highlighting holiday events community resources and ways for residents to engage

Coral Springs, Florida – As the holiday season approaches, Coral Springs is gearing up to celebrate with a variety of festive events and community initiatives designed to bring residents together and create lasting memories. From dazzling light displays to cultural parades, the city is inviting families, friends, and neighbors to immerse themselves in the spirit of the season.

Downtown Coral Springs will serve as the centerpiece for holiday cheer, with the City Hall Lawn at 9500 West Sample Road illuminated nightly starting at 5 p.m. Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to enjoy the twinkling lights, which provide the perfect backdrop for family photos and festive outings. “From twinkling lights to festive gatherings, the holiday season in Coral Springs is filled with opportunities to make magical memories with family, friends and neighbors,” city officials said in a recent message.

The holiday kickoff begins with the popular Light Up the Lawn event on Saturday, December 6, from 5 to 9 p.m. Attendees can experience the joy of artificial snow flurries, enjoy scenic train rides, and participate in the ceremonial lighting of the holiday tree. The event promises to be a family-friendly celebration with plenty of activities and seasonal cheer.

Coral Springs homeowners also have the opportunity to showcase their creativity with the Deck the Halls Festive Home Tour. The city is now accepting submissions from residents who want their elaborately decorated homes included on the official holiday map. All entries, which must include a photo of the home, are due by 12 p.m. on Monday, December 8. The holiday map will go live on December 9, encouraging residents to explore the city and enjoy a tour of dazzling decorations. “‘Tis the season to decorate! The city is now accepting submissions for the Deck the Halls Festive Home Tour!” officials said.

The festive spirit continues with the city’s Annual Holiday Parade on Wednesday, December 10, along Sample Road from 7 to 9 p.m. This year’s theme, “Parade of Cultures,” highlights the rich diversity of traditions celebrated in Coral Springs, offering families a unique opportunity to witness performances, floats, and displays that reflect communities from around the world.

For parents looking for a night out, Coral Springs is hosting Parents Night Out on Friday, December 12, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Coral Springs Gymnasium at 2501 Coral Springs Drive.
Children will enjoy pizza, games, crafts, and supervised activities, giving parents a chance to enjoy some holiday shopping or a relaxing evening on their own. The city encourages residents to view the full list of holiday events on the official city website.

In addition to festivities, the City Commission reminds residents to follow recycling guidelines to prevent contamination during the busy season. Christmas trees and large cardboard boxes can be placed together for collection with bulk waste, while plastic film, bubble wrap, and Styrofoam must be discarded in green carts. Wrapping paper with foil is not recyclable, and electronics can be dropped off at the Waste Transfer Station. Trash, recycling, and bulk services will not be available on Christmas Day, December 25.
