Three Coral Springs elementary schools welcome new principals as 2026-27 school year begins
Coral Springs, Florida – As students returned to classrooms across Coral Springs on Monday, Aug. 10, three elementary schools began the new school year with new principals at the helm.
The leadership changes at Eagle Ridge, Park Springs and Parkside elementary schools are part of the start of the 2026-27 Broward County Public Schools school year. While the names on the principals’ office doors have changed, each of the new leaders already has a long history working in Broward County schools.
At Eagle Ridge Elementary School, Denise D. Hanson takes over as principal after spending 11 years at Park Springs Elementary. Her time there included serving first as an assistant principal before becoming the school’s principal.
Hanson now moves to Eagle Ridge, where she will lead the school as students and teachers begin the new academic year.
Her move created another leadership opening at Park Springs, which will now be led by Katherine E. Good.
Good comes to Park Springs after seven years as principal of Fairway Elementary School in Miramar. Before that, she spent nine years leading Coconut Creek Elementary, giving her extensive experience as an elementary school principal in the area.

Her career in Broward County schools began well before those leadership positions. Good also served as an assistant principal at Coral Park and Deerfield Beach elementary schools. Earlier in her career, she worked as a teacher at Bethune Elementary in Hollywood.
The third change involves Lindsey A. Sierra, who has moved from Eagle Ridge to become principal at Parkside Elementary School.
Sierra has an especially long connection to Eagle Ridge. She began her education career there and spent 24 years at the school, working in several different roles before taking over as principal.
Her experience at Eagle Ridge included serving as a teacher, reading coach and assistant principal. She then spent six years as the school’s principal before moving to Parkside for the 2026-27 school year.
The changes create a leadership shuffle among three Coral Springs elementary schools, but they are also marked by familiarity. Rather than bringing administrators with little knowledge of the local school system, the moves put experienced Broward County educators into the positions.
Hanson knows Park Springs after more than a decade there, while Sierra spent more than two decades at Eagle Ridge. Good also brings years of experience leading schools in neighboring communities, along with a background in both school administration and classroom teaching.

For families returning to school this week, the changes will be among the first differences they notice on their campuses. Each school begins the new year with a principal who has already spent years working with students, teachers and school communities in Broward County.
The new leadership teams at Eagle Ridge, Park Springs and Parkside will now begin the work of guiding their schools through the 2026-27 school year.
The first day of classes marks a new chapter for all three campuses, with familiar educators taking on new responsibilities and bringing their previous school experiences to their new roles in Coral Springs.
