Coral Springs Charter girls’ bowling team wins third consecutive Broward County championship at Strikers

Coral Springs, Florida – The Coral Springs Charter girls’ bowling team continued its impressive run of success by winning the Broward County Athletic Association (BCAA) championship on October 6, securing its third consecutive county title.

The championship tournament took place at Strikers, where the team delivered another strong performance to finish ahead of its competitors and extend its winning streak at the county level.

Head coach Greg Mason praised his players for their efforts throughout the competition and their consistency during the season.

Mason highlighted Cameron Thiele, Gensen Courtney, Faith Tucker, and Jazmyn Chung as key contributors to the championship victory.

“The whole team bowled exceptionally, and they have done well all season,” said Mason.

The latest title adds to an already successful season for Coral Springs Charter, which has established itself as a strong competitor in Broward County girls’ bowling.

Winning three consecutive county championships also reflects the team’s ability to maintain its performance from one season to the next.

For the players, the victory represents another important achievement as they prepare for the next stage of competition.

Thiele expressed excitement about winning the championship and credited the team’s close relationships and cooperation for its success.

“It feels very good to win this championship. We play together as a team and have good team chemistry. I am confident we will win the district championship,” she said.

Her comments reflect the team’s confidence heading into the district championship, where the players hope to continue their successful season.

While the girls celebrated another county title, the Coral Springs Charter boys’ bowling team also competed in the tournament.

According to Mason, the boys finished in fifth place.

Meanwhile, the Taravella girls’ bowling team earned fourth place in the county competition, adding another strong showing for a Coral Springs school.

Gabriela Sanchez and Chyanne Van Winkle were identified as the leading bowlers for Taravella’s girls’ team.

Taravella coach Madison Rabun also praised the performance of the school’s boys’ team, identifying Adam Acebedo as its top bowler.

Rabun said the boys competed well during the tournament and expressed satisfaction with the progress both teams have made.

The results are particularly encouraging for Taravella because the school did not have a bowling team last year.

After returning to competition this season, the program has already demonstrated improvement and established a competitive presence.

“We have a good team, and we are getting better. Last year, Taravella didn’t have a bowling team, and this year we have a good team,” added Rabun. “I believe the girls’ team can qualify for the state championship.”

With the county tournament completed, attention now turns toward the upcoming district competition and the possibility of advancing further.

Coral Springs Charter enters the next stage with another championship and strong confidence, while Taravella hopes to build on its fourth-place finish and continue improving.

For Coral Springs Charter’s girls, the October 6 victory marks another milestone in a successful stretch that has now produced three straight Broward County championships.
