Central Florida TV station evacuated after receiving a threatening phone call

When a threatening phone call was received by a television station in central Florida late Sunday night, police ordered the station’s evacuation, forcing employees to wait outside for several hours.

After it was announced that the station had received the call, police officers from the cities of Orlando and Eatonville made their way to the studios of the NBC affiliate WESH-TV and its sister station, WKCF-TV.

Due to the evacuation, many newscasts, including the one that was scheduled to air at 11 p.m. on Sunday, were unable to be broadcast.

The police gave the all clear before 5 a.m. on Monday and did not reveal additional information.
