City of Marco Island suspends permit fees for Hurricane Ian damage repairs

MARCO ISLAND, Fla. — All permit fees for repairs caused by the hurricane will be put on hold for a short time by the City of Marco Island.

The City Council decided by a large majority that these fees would be put on hold in residential and business areas until December 28, 2022.

The construction permit fees for roofs, screened enclosures, fences, HVAC and electrical systems, swimming pool systems, solar collectors, and maritime buildings, such as boat docks, are temporarily waived by the resolution.

The waiver does not cover any taxes or surcharges imposed by the county, the state, or any other group.
