Passenger hospitalized with gunshot injuries after an alleged attack on an Uber driver in Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Authorities have said that a gunshot occurred in Hollywood on Wednesday night after an alleged assault on an Uber driver by a passenger. The police are still investigating the incident.

The public information officer for the Hollywood Police Department, Deanna Bettineschi, said that the incident took place shortly after 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of North Park Road and Oak Drive, which is just across from TY Park.

Bettineschi says that police officers got to the scene quickly and performed life-saving techniques until emergency crews got there.

The fight, according to the police, began over the location of the drop-off.

After being shot, the passenger got out of the car and went towards Emerald Oaks, which is a gated residential community, according to the police.

According to the findings of the investigation, the Uber driver traveled a short distance before stopping and calling the police.

The victim was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital, where they were said to be in stable condition, according to the detectives.

According to the police, the Uber driver had injuries to his face but did not need hospitalization.

According to the authorities, the Uber driver stayed at the scene and was cooperative with the police throughout the investigation.

The Uber driver has reportedly not been charged with any crime, as stated by the police.
