Pembroke Pines arrested Pines Middle School student after verbal threats Thursday

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – Authorities say that a middle school student in Pembroke Pines made verbal threats and was taken into custody Thursday morning.

Pembroke Pines police say that the incident happened at 200 Douglas Road, which is where Pines Middle School is.

Police said that the threats were heard coming from the student.

The police department wrote on social media that no weapons were found and that there was never a time when there was a safety concern on campus.

The police department wrote, “Parents, please talk to your kids about how serious it is to make verbal or written threats.” “Our Threat Assessment Team will look into ALL threats in depth. It’s no joke.”

We don’t know how old or what gender the student is yet. It’s not clear if he or she will be charged with a crime.
