Florida couple took the stage at the Historic Arcade Theater in downtown Fort Myers, will donate everything for theater repairs

FORT MYERS, Florida — On Monday night at the Historic Arcade Theater in downtown Fort Myers, Liz Abbott and Greg Longenhagen will play a couple who is in love. But Greg and Liz, who are married in real life, won’t have any trouble with that.

Liz said, “I think it’s hard for us to get through the show.” “Because we care so much about each other.”

A. R. Gurney’s Love Letters is the name of the play they will be putting on. In it, the two actors will read letters and cards from 50 years apart. It was in the running for the Pulitzer Prize in Drama.

Greg, the artistic director of Florida Repertory Theater, said, “Liz is probably my favorite person to act with.” “It is so special to do this with Liz.”

The couple had already put on the play in 2012 at a fundraiser. The money from the one-night show on February 20 will be used to fix up the post-Ian theater.

Greg said, “People really need a sense of community right now.” “Theatre is supposed to do that.”
