Fatal shooting in Tamarac results in arrest of suspect

The Broward County Sheriff’s Office said that a man was killed in a shooting in Tamarac.

Broward Regional Communications got a call around 5:30 p.m. on Monday about a shooting that had happened earlier in the day in the 8800 block of Northwest 75th Court.

After receiving the report, deputies from the Broward Sheriff’s Office and the Tamarac Fire Rescue team immediately responded to the scene. Upon arrival, they discovered an adult male who had already passed away. The identity of the victim has not yet been disclosed.

As the investigation continued, on Tuesday evening, the Homicide Unit detectives took Tatiana Tavarez, 25, into custody and charged her with first-degree murder with a firearm and battery on a law enforcement officer. The authorities have not provided any further details about the motive for the crime or the relationship between the suspect and the victim.

The homicide and crime scene units are working together to investigate the incident and determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. As more information becomes available, updates will be provided.
