Young man dies after car plunges into West Palm Beach canal

West Palm Beach, Florida – A young man’s life has tragically come to a premature end in the early hours of Monday morning.

According to the authorities, the devastating incident occurred in West Palm Beach, where the 22-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle, a 2018 Mazda 6, causing it to plunge into a nearby canal. The accident happened in the 1300 block of Parker Avenue.

First responders immediately arrived on the scene, where they swiftly dove into the canal to retrieve the victim from the submerged vehicle. Despite performing life-saving CPR efforts, the driver was pronounced dead upon arrival at Good Samaritan Medical Center. The details of the individual’s identity are being withheld until the next of kin are located and notified.

As authorities piece together the events leading up to the crash, initial investigations indicate that the driver may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol. A Palm Beach County medical examiner’s report is pending to confirm the suspicion.
