HCA Healthcare reports major data breach, millions of patients impacted

Miami, Florida – HCA Healthcare has publicly disclosed that a significant data breach has led to the unauthorized access and theft of information pertaining to millions of patients.

The cyber intrusion has impacted healthcare facilities across 20 states, among which Florida and Texas have been notably affected.

As per HCA Healthcare’s statement, the compromised data includes patient names, residential addresses, email addresses, telephone numbers, and dates of birth.

In South Florida, multiple facilities fell victim to this security breach, namely Mercy Hospital, HCA International Cardiology, as well as HCA-affiliated hospitals situated in Aventura and Kendall.

In light of these circumstances, HCA Healthcare is urging patients to exercise caution while dealing with billing requests. They strongly recommend patients to refrain from making any payments in response to billing requests, without first establishing contact through their dedicated helpline at (844) 608-1803.
