A man apologizes after being chased by police in Coral Springs at over 100 miles per hour
Coral Springs, Florida – “I apologize; that was me, police. I wanted to take responsibility for my error because I was terrified and foolish.
Following a police pursuit through Coral Springs last week, Austin Tinder, 24, of Tamarac, allegedly said such things after an officer observed him fishtail, swerve around obstacles, and reach speeds of over 100 mph in his black Pontiac.
The pursuit on Nov. 3 started close to the intersection of Riverside Drive and Wiles Road, according to an arrest report.
Tinder sped up and swerved between cars as police began a traffic stop. According to the complaint, he once drove into a barricaded construction lane, barely escaping several other vehicles.
Additionally, according to officers, Tinder accelerated into the intersection of University Drive and Wiles Road, ignoring a red signal, causing other vehicles to brake suddenly to prevent a collision.
As they pursued him, police detected his Pontiac traveling at almost 100 miles per hour on their radar.
According to the complaint, Tinder abruptly turned right into a plaza close to the 4600 block and came to a stop while the pursuit proceeded north on University Drive.
Then, according to the report, he went up to the cops and told them he wanted to have a “little bit of fun” and was showing off for his girlfriend.
According to the investigation, Tinder had multiple speeding infractions between 2020 and 2024, according to the police.
He is currently being charged with reckless driving, evading law enforcement, exceeding the speed limit of fifty miles per hour, and other violations.
According to court documents, he was brought to the Broward County Jail and then released on bail.
