HCA Florida Northwest Hospital celebrates 40 years of providing services in Northwest Broward County, more services and expansions ahead
Margate, Florida – Hospital officials are looking ahead to future expansions and new services as they commemorate the 40th anniversary of HCA Florida Northwest Hospital in Margate with a community gathering.
Last week, Kenneth Jones, the CEO of the hospital, told TAPinto Coral Springs, “We’re really proud of this anniversary, just to see our continued growth in services, our people, and our core programs.” “Healthcare has kept changing, and we have changed along with the community and the healthcare system. We want to keep serving the community’s needs for the next forty years.
Previously known as Northwest Medical Center, the 289-bed hospital at 2801 N State Road 7 contains more than 800 staff physicians and more than 1,000 employees. In order to represent its corporate ownership, its name was changed in 2022.
Hospital administrators have added buildings and services to serve southern Palm Beach County and northern Broward County over the years.
According to officials, it recently opened a graduate medical education program in 2020, expanded an operating room in 2019, and constructed a $75 million tower in 2018.
Additionally, HCA Florida Northwest has implemented more sophisticated technology during the last four years, such as surgical robots, a new CT machine, and improved MRI, telemetry, and ultrasound equipment.
According to officials, the hospital has also received praise for a wide range of initiatives, such as maternity services, gallbladder and spinal surgery, and heart care.
According to Jones, his team intends to expand on these successful initiatives.
“Introducing a new high-intensity, hybrid suite—an integrated operating room to treat vascular and cardiovascular patients—is one of the areas that we’re focused on,” he stated.
The newly approved program will begin operations the following year.
He added that in order to handle more complicated cases, the hospital is creating an advanced stroke program.
Future plans include for the inauguration of new facilities in Lighthouse Point in 2025 and Boca Raton in 2026, where the hospital will premiere its first free-standing emergency room, as well as the expansion of graduate medical education programs and the addition of operating rooms.
According to Jones, the hospital intends to renovate a medical office complex next to its campus in the future.
“To support our medical-surgical capacity and our women’s service line, we would like to add two stories of inpatient beds,” he stated.
Jones highlighted the hospital’s fundamental emphasis on its patients.
“It’s our patients, our doctors, and our coworkers,” he stated. “The principles that were established forty years ago and will continue to be established forty years from now and beyond are creating an environment and cultivating a culture where our people, our patients, and our physicians thrive, feel engaged, are recognized, and feel supported.”
For now, the hospital is celebrating the milestone with a family night out at the Promenade at Coconut Creek on December 5 from 5 to 7 p.m. The festival, which has been postponed twice because of hurricanes, will include performances, music, entertainment, and exclusive deals.
