AAA predicts unprecedented travel numbers this Thanksgiving

Miami, Florida – MIAMI – This Thanksgiving is set to see unprecedented travel figures, as reported by AAA – The Auto Club Group.

Nearly 80 million Americans are set to take to the skies, roads, tracks, and seas, according to predictions from the auto club. Over 4.5 million individuals in Florida are anticipated to embark on a holiday journey.

Across the nation, approximately 71.7 million Americans are expected to hit the road for Thanksgiving this year. Of those, AAA expects more than 570,000 to have some type of car trouble. AAA frequently handles three main types of calls: flat tires, dead batteries, and lockouts.

“Ensure car troubles won’t keep you from enjoying Thanksgiving dinner,” advised AAA spokesman Mark Jenkins. “Prior to embarking on your holiday road trip, make sure to have a comprehensive vehicle inspection to guarantee that everything is functioning optimally.”

Authorities are advising individuals to get ready for a surge in travelers and the potential for severe weather in certain regions of the country.

If you’re planning to fly, make sure to plan ahead and arrive at the airport early. Be sure to verify your flight details before making your way to the airport.

Miami International Airport is set to welcome 1.9 million travelers this Thanksgiving holiday, while Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is preparing for 1.3 million travelers.

Both Miami International Airport and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport offer convenient apps for downloading, allowing you to easily check wait times.
