During a traffic stop, Coral Springs police confiscate almost 400 grams of marijuana; the driver claims mental health issues are the reason for the use

Coral Springs, Florida – According to a police report, a local man was arrested on several drug-related crimes after Coral Springs police seized roughly 400 grams of marijuana during a routine traffic stop last week.

Terrell Dabady, 24, of Pompano Beach, is the driver who is accused of driving with a suspended license, possessing cannabis with intent to distribute, and possessing drug paraphernalia.

Early on November 17, an officer saw a black 2023 Hyundai Sonata sitting at a green light close to Riverside Drive and West Sample Road, leading to the arrest.

Police stopped the vehicle and found the driver to be Dabady, who admitted to smoking marijuana inside the vehicle and having a suspended license.

The probable cause affidavit states that a further search of the vehicle turned up a significant amount of cannabis (395.09 grams) kept in upscale bags.

A scale and a grinder, among other items frequently linked to drug distribution, were also found.
Dabady told police that the marijuana was for his own use when they questioned him, stating that he used it to treat the symptoms of his post-traumatic stress disorder and despair.

He said he had no intention of selling the pills.

However according to the report, investigators observed that the big quantity of cannabis, a scale, and baggies showed an obvious intent to distribute.

According to court documents, Dabady was brought to the Broward County Jail and then released on bond.
