After a health inspection reveals flying insects, Sonic Drive-In closes its doors
Coral Springs, Florida – After a health inspection found four infractions, including live flying insects in the kitchen and spaces used for food preparation, Sonic Drive-In was temporarily ordered to close.
During an inspection on November 18, inspectors from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation saw tiny flying insects on clean utensil storage at the triple sink across from the ice cream makers at Sonic, which is located at 6200 West Sample Road.
Insects on the lemonade machine, soda cup lids at the soda machine station, and shelves housing clean storage containers close to the cook line were among the other infractions.
According to the report, inspectors found flying insects to be a serious health hazard in these regions, which led to the restaurant’s immediate closure.
Until the infractions are fixed and the establishment passes a follow-up inspection to guarantee adherence to food safety regulations, Sonic Drive-In has been ordered to stay closed.
