Coral Springs’ Riverside Elementary School will unveil a $450,000 media center renovation

Coral Springs, Florida – Next month, the $450,000 media center at Coral Springs’ Riverside Elementary School, which was made possible by the school district’s SMART Bond program, will be unveiled.

According to the school system, the state-of-the-art media center has undergone major renovations, including ADA-compliant restrooms, new flooring, new paint, and improved fixtures.

A circulation desk, task lighting, bookshelves, a desktop computer, and an interactive whiteboard that allows teachers to project images from a computer, iPad, or external camera are among the additional features included.

The improvements are part of a broader campus renovation project worth $2.7 million that also includes sprinklers, HVAC systems, ADA accessibility, and fire alarms.

The funds come from the Safety, Music, Art, Athletics, Renovations, and Technology (SMART) capital improvement bond initiative, which has been in place for ten years and has a total value of $800 million.

In a statement, Principal Lisa Balint remarked, “Our newly renovated media center has our entire school community thrilled.”

“Our students may learn, work together, and engage in activities in this fantastic area. Our media center is now a brand-new, contemporary, and welcoming place for everyone, and the transition has been incredible,” she continued.

On December 12, there will be a ribbon-cutting event at the school located at 11450 Riverside Drive.
