Coral Springs will implement tighter regulations for Bulk Trash Pickup beginning January 1

Coral Springs, Florida – Starting January 1, residents of Coral Springs will need to adhere to more stringent bulk trash regulations, or they may face the possibility of their waste not being collected.

On Tuesday, the city reminded single-family homeowners to take a moment to check the regulations regarding bulk waste collection.

Non-compliance may lead to missed pickups, as noted on social media.

“Properly securing bulk items is essential for maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and beauty of our community,” stated John Norris, director of the city’s public works department, in a video.
Important reminders:

Bulk trash cannot exceed six cubic yards — roughly the size of three refrigerators. Of that, only two cubic yards can consist of construction debris.

• Place bulk items away from trees, mailboxes, or any other structures that could restrict the mechanical removal process.
• Any individual yard waste item must weigh 50 pounds or less.
• Lawn clippings and leaves must be bagged or placed in containers for collection.
• Extra garbage bags alongside bulk waste will not be picked up.
• Landscapers, tree trimmers, and contractors are responsible for hauling away their debris.
