Representative Jared Moskowitz nominates Jaxson Jewell to Congress

Coral Springs, Florida – Coral Springs resident Jaxson Jewell has been officially nominated by U.S. Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) to attend the United States Naval Academy.

Jewell, a Butler Farms native, will graduate from Deerfield Beach High School this spring and play collegiate football at Navy.

“It feels almost unreal because I grew up watching the Army-Navy Game every year and college football on TV,” Jewell remarked. “Now, I get to play in one of the most famous college football games and be one of those guys on TV.” I have no doubt that my parents are proud of me, and I look forward to the future.

Jewell played for former Coral Glades head coach Cam Thomas after starting his high school career at St. Andrews and transferring to Deerfield Beach High School.

During his varsity career, the three-sport athlete enjoyed a fantastic run with the Bucks. He was a vital player of the boys’ basketball team and participated in track and field in the state championship.

McKenzie Jewell, his sister, attends Eastern Florida University to play collegiate softball.
Deerfield Beach defeated Marjory Stoneman Douglas 36-0 to end the 2024 season with a single victory. Jewell is expected to play in a bowl game and join a college squad that is 8-3 this season.
