Joey Georgiou of Coral Springs reveals college pick

Coral Springs, Florida – Coral Springs native Joey Georgiou has formally committed to play collegiate baseball at Pennsylvania’s Muhlenberg College.

Georgiou is excited about the chance and describes it as a significant weight being lifted off his shoulders.

“I am thrilled to get to play now that I know where I will be attending college,” Georgiou remarked.I came to the realization that not everyone has the opportunity to play collegiate baseball, and I didn’t want to pass up this possibility.

Georgiou started playing baseball with the Original Florida Pokers five years after he was five years old. He plays high school baseball at NSU University and recently won his second consecutive BCS Championship with the Pokers, led by his father, Rob Georgiou.

Georgiou had a stellar sophomore season, hitting.471 and driving in five runs before having another outstanding junior year during his varsity career. Before joining a college team that won nine games the previous season, he intends to spend one more year playing high school baseball and work on his strength and time management.
