Coral Springs Charter student arrested for threatening a school shooting

Coral Springs, Florida – A Coral Springs Charter School student was arrested this week after the 18-year-old was accused of making online threats to shoot up the school, according to media sources.
Diane Varela Gomez appeared in court on Wednesday after being arrested and charged with making threats to kill or harm someone at the school located at 3205 University Drive.
Police charged her after she sent a threatening message on Snapchat that said: “I’m dead (expletive) ‘bout to shoot up this dumb (ahh) school.” according to a news source.
She told the police that she was having a tough day and didn’t pass a test. A prosecutor informed the judge that there was no valid reason for making such a threat, according to the story.
Gomez’s defense lawyer told the judge the girl was being “foolish” and didn’t mean what she said.
The court told her to stay away from school, not use the internet, and wear a GPS tracker until they say otherwise, according to the news story.
