Coral Springs business owners urged to participate in an important survey on waste management and recycling practices before the April 11 deadline

Coral Springs, Florida – The Solid Waste Authority of Broward County is reaching out to business owners in Coral Springs to gather valuable feedback about waste and recycling practices. As part of an effort to shape a sustainable future, the authority is asking businesses to complete an online survey before the April 11 deadline. This initiative is crucial for improving the county’s waste management strategies and promoting better recycling programs.

The survey, which is available in English, Spanish, and Kreyòl, can be accessed on the Solid Waste Authority’s website at browardswa.org/surveys. City of Sunrise Mayor Mike Ryan, who also serves as the chair of the Solid Waste Authority, emphasized the important role businesses play in managing waste and contributing to sustainability efforts.

“Your input will help identify opportunities to promote reduction, increase diversion and recycling, enhance efficiency, and create solutions for businesses of all sizes,” Ryan said in a press release. The results from the survey will be used to improve existing programs and develop a comprehensive long-term waste management plan for the county.

This survey follows a similar one conducted for residential areas, but this time the focus is on businesses. The authority aims to gather feedback from a broad range of business types to understand the specific challenges they face in waste disposal and recycling. Ryan also mentioned that the survey is just one part of a larger effort to engage the community, with additional opportunities for public involvement scheduled later this year. These will include another residential survey and community meetings.

The feedback collected will inform recommendations for the county’s 40-year waste management and recycling plan. It will also help direct future educational efforts on waste reduction, recycling best practices, and sustainable business operations.

Business owners in Coral Springs are encouraged to take part in the survey and contribute to shaping the future of waste management in Broward County. For more information or to participate in the survey, visit browardswa.org.
