Coral Springs house cleaners allegedly targeted multiple homes while stealing jewelry and large amounts of cash

Coral Springs, Florida – Two Coral Springs residents who worked as house cleaners are now facing serious criminal charges after being accused of stealing valuables from homes across Broward and Palm Beach counties. According to a recent statement from the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the couple allegedly used their access to homes to take advantage of trusting clients—many of whom were elderly.
Oscar German Munoz, 61, and Martha Cecilia Molano, 57, were arrested on May 5 after investigators searched their Coral Springs residence and discovered a stash of items believed to be stolen. The evidence recovered includes a range of valuable property: necklaces, rings, watches, earrings, rare coins, and bundles of cash.
The investigation began in April, when an elderly couple living in the Yardley community of Tamarac reported that several personal items had gone missing from their home. According to the sheriff’s office, surveillance footage showed Munoz and Molano entering the couple’s home carrying cleaning supplies and then exiting shortly after. That led detectives to suspect the couple may have been involved in more than just routine housekeeping.
From there, authorities began connecting the dots. They uncovered a string of similar thefts involving the same individuals. “Detectives found other burglaries with the same pattern,” the sheriff’s office said. “They believe the pair stole from many elderly or wealthy people while pretending to be house cleaners.”
Police say the stolen jewelry was often taken to local pawn shops and sold for quick cash. The profits, they added, were then allegedly used to fund international travel.
“This is a case where trust was abused,” officials emphasized, warning residents to be cautious when hiring help for in-home services. “Officials are warning people to research house cleaners before hiring them. They say to check if a company is licensed and insured, ask for references, and get several estimates.”
Munoz and Molano were both taken to the Broward County Main Jail following their arrests. They were released soon after, each posting a $20,000 bond. However, the case is far from over. Detectives suspect that there may be more victims, especially in the Tamarac and Palm Beach County areas.

Authorities are urging anyone who believes they may have been targeted by the suspects to come forward. “Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Danny Polo at 954-720-2225,” the press release stated.
As the investigation continues, the community is reminded to stay vigilant and take precautions when letting service workers into their homes. This case serves as a stark reminder that even routine tasks like hiring a house cleaner should be handled with care and attention to security.
