Long Island bagel cafe expands to Coral Springs bringing authentic New York style hand rolled bagels and deli favorites to South Florida customers
Coral Springs, Florida – Coral Springs is getting a taste of New York in a familiar corner of the city, as Long Island Bagel Cafe prepares to open its doors in the coming days. The well-known New York brand, recognized for its hand-rolled bagels and classic deli-style meals, is expanding into South Florida with a new location set to bring its signature flavors to local customers.
The new shop will take over the space previously occupied by Hurricane Grill & Wings. Inside, the concept stays close to its roots, offering a traditional New York-style bagel experience that has built a loyal following over the years. Customers can expect fresh bagels made in the old-fashioned way, along with smoked fish, cream cheese spreads, breakfast platters, coffee, and stacked deli sandwiches that reflect a classic city deli culture.
Long Island Bagel Cafe has long been known as a family-run franchise with a strong identity tied to traditional preparation methods. Its bagels are hand-rolled, a detail that fans often point to as the key to its texture and flavor. The company currently operates eight locations across New York and has already begun expanding into Florida, with its first Sunshine State store opening in Boca Raton last September.

The Coral Springs location continues that expansion trend, bringing not just bagels but a full menu of breakfast and lunch options. Alongside its signature items, the cafe will serve coffee shop favorites, breakfast sandwiches, deli classics, and brunch-style meals designed for both quick stops and longer visits. The idea is to blend convenience with a familiar, old-school deli atmosphere.
For local residents, the timing of the new opening may feel especially noticeable. A popular nearby bagel spot, Family Bagels of Long Island, recently closed its Coral Springs location at 5906 Coral Ridge Drive. That shop had its own long history in the area, originally operating under the name Westside Bagels before shutting down in 2019 after the unexpected death of owner Geoffrey Lichtman. It later reopened under new ownership by Long Island native Neal Schatt and South Florida business partner Steve Corn.
With that closure still fresh for some customers, the arrival of Long Island Bagel Cafe may help fill a gap in the local breakfast and bagel scene. The brand’s arrival adds another option for those who prefer New York-style bagels and deli meals without leaving South Florida.
More details about the opening and menu can be found through Long Island Bagel Cafe as the launch approaches.
