Fort Lauderdale man with long criminal history arrested in Coral Springs for stealing $1,100 gold chain from pawn shop

Coral Springs, Florida – A man from Fort Lauderdale with a long history of criminal activity has been charged in connection with the theft of a gold chain from a pawn shop in Coral Springs. Brandon Labrent Marshall, who has been arrested multiple times for felony offenses, walked into the shop on June 1 and took a chain valued at $1,100 without paying. His actions were captured on surveillance footage, and the police quickly identified him as the suspect.

Around 6 p.m. on June 1, Marshall entered the pawn shop and asked the store clerk to show him a gold chain. After the clerk handed him the item, Marshall left the store without making any attempt to pay for it. Surveillance cameras recorded the entire incident, and authorities were able to see Marshall leaving the store and getting into a 2018 white Volkswagen. The car, which had a female owner, was driven by another man.

Investigators soon tracked down the vehicle’s owner, who explained that she had left her car with a man she met through an acquaintance. This man had promised to fix some mechanical issues with the car at a reasonable price. While it remains unclear whether this person was the same individual who stole the gold chain, the car’s owner confirmed that Marshall was the person who took the jewelry.

Marshall, who has a long record of theft-related offenses, was later confirmed as the suspect. At the time of the theft, he was not in jail but was later arrested on June 13 for a separate incident. Following his arrest, police charged him with grand theft on July 2, and he is now facing serious consequences for his actions.

This incident adds to Marshall’s growing criminal history. Since April, he has been arrested multiple times on felony charges, including several cases involving theft. Despite his extensive record, Marshall’s repeated run-ins with the law have yet to deter him from committing more crimes. Law enforcement officials hope that this latest charge will lead to a more substantial legal response and prevent further thefts from occurring in the community.

As the investigation continues, authorities are urging local residents and businesses to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity. The Coral Springs pawn shop incident serves as a reminder of the challenges law enforcement faces when dealing with repeat offenders and the ongoing need for greater accountability within the criminal justice system.
