Hotel meeting with “14-year-old” lands Coral Springs man in jail during trafficking sting operation

Coral Springs, Florida – A Coral Springs man is facing serious felony charges after what began as an online conversation and hotel arrangement with a person he believed was a 14-year-old girl ended in his arrest during a multi-agency trafficking sting in Broward County.

Authorities say 32-year-old Kyle Rosenthal was arrested on June 25 as part of “Operation Red Card,” a targeted enforcement effort led by the Broward Sheriff’s Office aimed at identifying and apprehending suspected predators ahead of upcoming World Cup-related activity in South Florida. Rosenthal was one of seven men taken into custody during the operation.

According to deputies, Rosenthal arranged to meet the minor at a hotel located on Southwest 19th Court in Dania Beach. Investigators say he traveled to the location believing he was meeting a 14-year-old girl. However, law enforcement confirmed the girl did not exist. The individual he had been communicating with was actually an undercover detective.

Court records indicate Rosenthal initiated and continued online conversations with the undercover persona. Even after being made aware of the stated age, authorities say he proceeded with the meeting. Records show he arrived at the hotel at approximately 10:22 p.m., where deputies were waiting.

He was taken into custody at the scene without incident. According to an arrest affidavit, Rosenthal later waived his Miranda rights and admitted to participating in the conversations with the undercover detective.

Rosenthal now faces charges of solicitation of a child and traveling to meet a child for unlawful sexual conduct, both classified as felony offenses under Florida law. He is currently being held as the case moves forward through the legal system.

“Operation Red Card” was carried out with assistance from multiple agencies, including the South Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, the FBI, Homeland Security Investigations, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the Broward State Attorney’s Office, and several local police departments. Officials say the coordinated effort was designed to identify individuals attempting to exploit minors online.

In total, seven individuals were arrested during the sting. Authorities reported charges ranging from solicitation to drug possession and trafficking-related offenses. Investigators also identified ten potential victims during the operation. One of those individuals, a runaway, was located and safely returned to her family.

Law enforcement officials emphasized the importance of continued vigilance and community reporting in cases involving suspected exploitation. They encouraged the public to report concerns related to human trafficking or child exploitation through the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 888-373-7888, by texting “BeFree” to 233733, or by contacting local authorities. In emergencies, officials stressed that 911 should be used immediately.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities review additional leads connected to the broader sting operation.
