North Springs Little League 11U All-Stars win Sectional Championship and advance to State Championship
Coral Springs, Florida – The North Springs Little League 11U All-Stars are continuing their impressive postseason journey after winning the Sectional Championship and earning a spot in the State Championship tournament.
Coming off a dominant District Championship performance, North Springs returned to action with confidence and carried that momentum into the sectional competition. The team delivered two strong performances, overcoming early deficits in both games and showing the determination and teamwork that have defined its postseason run.
North Springs began the tournament with a 4-2 victory over Miami Springs Little League. The game did not start the way the team hoped, as Miami Springs jumped ahead with an early 1-0 lead. However, North Springs quickly responded when its offense came alive in the fourth inning.
Bengi Gutierrez provided the biggest moment of the game with a three-run home run, bringing home Victor Garcia and Braxton Nassery to give North Springs its first lead. The powerful swing changed the momentum and put the team ahead 3-1.
Miami Springs later managed to cut the lead to one run, but North Springs answered again in the fifth inning. Liam Rose delivered a solo home run to extend the advantage to 4-2 and give his team some additional breathing room.
On the mound, Jack Gardner played a key role in securing the win. Gardner pitched into the sixth inning, allowing only one earned run while striking out seven batters. When the game reached its final moments, Nassery stepped in and closed out the victory, recording the final two outs while leaving the tying runners stranded with the potential winning run at the plate.
After a weather delay before their second game, North Springs once again faced an early challenge. The team fell behind 1-0 before finding a way to respond. Wyatt Zadrazil scored on a passed ball to tie the game, but the opponent regained the lead shortly afterward.
North Springs refused to back down and took control in the fifth inning. Gutierrez once again delivered in a critical situation, hitting a two-run single that put the team ahead for the first time in the game.
The lead was protected by another excellent pitching performance, this time from Cole Edogs. Edogs worked 5 2/3 innings and recorded eight strikeouts, keeping the opposing offense under control throughout the contest. Gabriel Mattheu then completed the final groundout to secure the win and send North Springs into the State Championship.
The team also received important contributions throughout the game from several players. Victor Garcia led the offense with two hits, while JJ Lieberman helped create opportunities by reaching base with a walk. Defensively, Noah Brea and Bruno Guzman made important plays in the outfield to help protect the lead and preserve the victory.
North Springs entered the sectional tournament after an impressive District Championship run in which the team outscored opponents 30-8 over three games. With the sectional title secured, the All-Stars have now won five straight postseason games and continue to build one of the strongest runs in program history.
The team will now turn its attention to the State Championship, where North Springs will look to continue its remarkable postseason success and compete against the best teams in the state. With strong pitching, timely hitting, and a commitment from every player on the roster, the 11U All-Stars have shown they are ready for the next challenge.
