Veteran educator Lindsey Sierra takes leadership role as new principal of Parkside Elementary
Coral Springs, Florida – Parkside Elementary School in Coral Springs is preparing for a new chapter with the appointment of longtime educator Lindsey Sierra as its next principal. Sierra brings more than two decades of experience in education and a deep connection to the local school community after spending 24 years at nearby Eagle Ridge Elementary.
Sierra’s career in education began at Eagle Ridge, where she started as a classroom teacher. Over the years, she took on several leadership roles, including reading coach, assistant principal and eventually principal. She served as the school’s leader for six years before moving into her new role at Parkside Elementary.
Throughout her career, Sierra has focused on supporting teachers and creating strong learning environments for students. She believes successful teaching requires awareness, flexibility and the ability to respond to different situations inside the classroom.
Sierra described the importance of what she calls “with-it-ness” when discussing what makes an effective teacher. “An experienced teacher has many tools and has to be able to handle a variety of classroom situations,” said Sierra.
As principal, Sierra said she sees herself not only as an administrator but also as someone who continues to teach and support educators. She plans to work closely with teachers, encouraging collaboration while also learning from their experiences.
“I am a coach, and I want to inspire the educators here. I am looking forward to meeting all the teachers and getting to know them,” said Sierra.
Parkside Elementary has built a strong reputation within the community, receiving an “A” grade for its academic performance. The school also offers programs that encourage creativity and problem-solving, including its robotics team, which provides students with opportunities to explore technology and teamwork.
Sierra said she is excited to join a school with such a positive foundation and looks forward to becoming part of the Parkside community.
