Coral Springs, Florida – Police arrested a man suspected of stealing tools from a Home Depot in Coral Springs after following a blood trail at the scene.
On November 21, store loss prevention personnel observed a man, later recognized as 49-year-old Cesar Hernandez, bleeding and creating a trail as he moved through the aisles.
The path revealed multiple opened tool packages, featuring hammers and saw blades, prior to leaving the store.
A report indicated that a loss prevention staff member stated Hernandez made threats to shoot when approached and was observed holding his waistband.
Officers responded and traced the path to the bushes close to West Atlantic Boulevard, where Hernandez was located and apprehended.
Authorities found a variety of tools at the location, such as hammers and razor blades.
The report indicated that the total worth of the stolen items amounted to $191.26.
A cut on Hernandez’s finger was the source of the bleeding.
