Ex-Bank of America employee has been taken into custody for allegedly installing a hidden camera in the restroom of the workplace

Coral Springs, Florida – According to a police report, a female employee was secretly recorded without her knowledge using a hidden camera that was placed in a restroom at a Coral Springs Bank of America branch.

According to the article, the camera was a cellphone planted beneath a stall wall in the “employees only” lavatory, which required a code to enter. The handset was hidden inside a black surgical glove with a hole cut out for the camera lens.

On November 8, a recently recruited employee made the finding after frantically calling her mother and then informing her coworkers and the assistant manager, who opened an investigation.

Juan Hurtado, 47, of Coconut Creek was taken into custody by authorities on suspicion of video voyeurism about two weeks later.

According to court documents, he was pulled up in Margate, transported to Broward County Jail, and then released on bail.

Hurtado was employed from 2022 to 2024 as a consultant and relationship manager at a Bank of America branch in Coral Springs, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Hurtado omitted the branch’s address, and the bank’s address was censored in the police report.
According to the complaint, Hurtado went into the bathroom, picked up the phone, and left the bank after it was found.

Hurtado attempted to dissuade people from reporting the incident to the police, according to witnesses, including the assistant manager and coworkers.

Additionally, they claimed Hurtado had a habit of using the restroom frequently, attributing this to “stomach issues.”

According to a bank spokeswoman, Hurtado quit his job at Bank of America soon after the incident.
