Cindy Brief is honored for her prolonged and effective chamber leadership

Coral Springs, Florida – The Coral Springs Chamber of Commerce’s office was a tiny trailer next to the Heron Bay Golf Course when Cindy Brief took over as CEO eighteen years ago.
In order to learn from the professionals, she enrolled in an on-the-job training course, visited as many conferences as she could, and researched chamber leadership. The chamber expanded, attracted new members, and contributed significantly to Coral Springs’ economic development under Brief’s direction.
On January 14, chamber members honored her departure as CEO and her move to vice president of Strategic Initiatives during the Wake-Up Breakfast.
Florida Representatives Dan Daley and Christine Hunschofsky, as well as Senator Tina Polsky, gave her proclamations. Brief’s board of directors presented her with flowers, a picture frame, and a desk clock after Coral Springs Mayor Scott Brook praised her work for the community.
Leading the 2018 merger of the Coral Springs and Coconut Creek chambers to form the Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce was one of her finest achievements, according to Brief. She also took pride in her efforts to have monument signs permitted at commercial malls in Coral Springs.
Additional achievements include being named the sixth-best chamber in the area by the South Florida Business Journal on June 22, 2024. Brief expressed her pride at the expansion of the trustee program to over 50 companies.
She recounted working in a trailer for years until relocating to the new Coral Springs city hall building in 2018.
Three years ago, I appointed Charinus Johnson-Davis, a remarkable woman, to be my successor. I assured her that she would take over my job when I retired,” Brief remarked.
Davis was elevated from executive vice president to chief executive officer.
Brief is happy in her new position and will keep working on special projects and advocating for the business community. She is excited to work on Broward Days, which brings together local community organizations and Tallahassee lawmakers.
