A developer in Coral Springs is looking for a possible partnership with a redevelopment agency to improve the public space at the New City Village project

Coral Springs, Florida – This week, the developer of the proposed City Village project gave an update to Coral Springs’ redevelopment agency on the project’s status and the potential for requesting the agency’s help for public improvements like a linear park and walkways.

Through a collaboration with the city’s Community Redevelopment Agency, Amera, which has received clearance for the first phase of the mixed-use development on a 12-acre site at the northwest corner of Sample Road and University Drive, is looking into methods to defray the cost of the infrastructure.

Amera’s Gisele Rahael informed the board on Monday that the company’s ambitions complement the city’s downtown development vision and that collaborating might help finance important infrastructure upgrades.

“The redevelopment agency shares our ideals. We can work together to create something unique and lively on this corner,” Rahael remarked.

There are 300 residential units and over 20,000 square feet of business space in the first phase of City Village.

At least 65,000 square feet more commercial space is anticipated to be added during the second phase.

According to Rahael, Amera will shortly present the agency with detailed financing requests for expenses associated with infrastructure.

The first phase of construction is scheduled to start in late 2025 and be completed in 2027 if all goes according to plan.

It is anticipated that the second phase would begin in late 2027 and be finished by mid-2029.
