Colleagues at Imagine Charter School in Broward named the music instructor “Teacher of the Year”

Coral Springs, Florida – Anthony Moore has gained the respect of his peers, according to Imagine Schools senior vice president Rod Sasse.
Moore, a band director and music instructor at Imagine Charter School at Broward K–8, was chosen as the school’s Teacher of the Year by its teachers. He was one of the three nominees.
Even though he was honored to win the award, he feels that other coworkers deserve it just as much. “Imagine employs a large number of people who put forth a lot of effort every day. I’m passionate and committed to the music department and my pupils,” he stated.
There was a little music program at the Coral Springs school when Moore first started there nine years ago. Moore, a skilled musician who provided individual lessons, gathered money through contributions, performances, and pizza sales while also obtaining a variety of instruments from friends.
In order to give sixth- through eighth-grade children the opportunity to play a solo song in front of an adjudicator, he enrolled them in district solo and ensemble competitions during his first year. He then started escorting pupils to local activities, such as concerts and music performance evaluations.
Moore has a strong desire to support children’s learning and is passionate about teaching music. Children can learn a methodology through music that will benefit them in ways that traditional academics cannot. “Music speaks to everyone,” he continued.
Throughout the pandemic, Moore kept the program going by providing all students with private online instruction. Imagine now has a comprehensive music program. The symphonic band is made up of the most talented pupils in grades 6–8. Through singing and chanting with uplifting messages, students in grades K–2 learn the foundations of music. Children in grades three through five practice playing recorders, singing, and reading music.
Moore stated, “I want to continue developing the program and seeing the kids develop.”
Debra Darling, the principal of Imagine Charter School, enjoys working with Moore. Bladen, her son who played the trombone in the band, had a great time.
Moore’s attempts to enable all of the pupils practice music during the epidemic through Zoom courses greatly impressed her.
Every night, he would work to teach the students. He inspires the students and encourages them to pursue music.
