Coral Springs man arrested for possession and distribution of child pornography

Coral Springs, Florida – A 29-year-old man from Coral Springs has been arrested on multiple charges related to the possession and distribution of child pornography. Authorities identified the suspect as Ricardo Recinos, who allegedly shared explicit materials online.

The investigation began in December 2024 when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) received a CyberTip regarding suspicious online activity. According to reports, KIK Media Lab flagged an account that was later traced back to Recinos. The tip led authorities to uncover disturbing content being exchanged over the platform.

Law enforcement officials determined that Recinos had distributed at least 11 files containing child pornography in late November 2024. Following a thorough investigation, authorities, including the Coral Springs Police Department, SWAT officers, and the South Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, moved in to arrest him on March 20.

During questioning, Recinos initially denied having a KIK account. However, he later admitted to owning one and confessed to both receiving and distributing explicit content. He reportedly told investigators that his intent was to exchange pornography of teenage girls between the ages of 13 and 17, but he ended up receiving materials depicting much younger children.

A forensic search of the account unearthed additional evidence. Chat logs showed Recinos actively requesting explicit files of minors, and investigators discovered at least seven unique files featuring children as young as four years old in illicit acts.

Following his arrest, Recinos was charged with seven counts of possession of child pornography and two counts of transmission of child pornography. He is currently being held without bond and awaits a court hearing to determine the next steps in his case.
Law enforcement officials continue to urge parents and guardians to monitor their children’s online activity and report any suspicious behavior to authorities. The case serves as a reminder of the ongoing fight against online exploitation and the importance of cybersecurity vigilance.
