SWAT team finds cocaine residue, marijuana, and thousands in cash during Coral Springs apartment raid

Coral Springs, Florida – A man is facing multiple drug-related charges after a SWAT raid at a Coral Springs apartment uncovered suspected narcotics, drug paraphernalia, and thousands of dollars in cash. The incident, which unfolded on May 22, involved the Coral Springs Police Department’s SWAT and Violence Intervention (VIN) units executing a search warrant at the residence of 42-year-old Khaaliq Harris.

According to the police report, Harris refused to comply with officers’ verbal commands to exit the apartment. Instead, he was observed via a SWAT throw-bot camera moving toward the bathroom and flushing the toilet. After a brief delay, Harris finally emerged from the unit.

Investigators say Harris had been on the phone with his girlfriend just before surrendering. She reportedly told officers that Harris warned her police were outside. Once inside, law enforcement officers began a detailed search of the home.

Their findings included a digital scale with visible cocaine residue in a bedroom closet, a clear plastic bag containing marijuana on a dining room table, and $4,645 in U.S. currency, which was recovered from Harris’s person. Officers stated in their report that the confiscated substances tested positive in preliminary field tests.

During the search, Harris reportedly told police: “All he does is get high and not sell.” Despite the statement, authorities moved forward with criminal charges based on the evidence collected at the scene.

Harris is now facing several charges, including possession of cocaine, possession of cannabis (under 20 grams), possession or use of drug paraphernalia, resisting an officer without violence, and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence. The police report did not indicate whether he had any prior criminal history.
