Former teacher creates a mission-driven real estate career in Coral Springs while continuing to support educators in need

Coral Springs, Florida – After dedicating 16 years to teaching in the classroom, Tamara Lobban made the difficult decision to walk away from education. But for the former reading teacher at Lyons Creek Middle School in Coconut Creek, leaving the classroom didn’t mean leaving her mission to serve others—especially the teachers she once stood alongside.
Burned out and disheartened by low pay and the demands of the job, Lobban left her teaching role in 2023. What came next wasn’t just a career shift—it was a complete reinvention rooted in purpose. “It was my therapy, so I wouldn’t return to the classroom,” she said. “I wanted to serve in another capacity.”
Today, Lobban leads a multi-faceted life as the owner of two Coral Springs-based businesses and the founder of a nonprofit that supports educators. She operates Legacy Prime Realty, a growing brokerage that now has 17 agents, and LLL Property Management Consulting, a concierge firm currently managing 10 homes across the area. Based out of Office Evolution in Coral Springs and residing in nearby Margate, Lobban has created an ecosystem of service through entrepreneurship.
Yet, her passion for helping others—especially teachers—remains central. Through her nonprofit, TLC4Teachers, she’s dedicated to providing wellness support, emergency financial aid, and mentorship to educators in need. The nonprofit, launched three years ago, helps with everything from utility bills to housing costs. It’s her way of staying connected to the world of education while forging a new path forward.
Some of her former students now walk that path with her. One of them, Brandon Brenner, whom she taught years ago, now serves as the nonprofit’s community engagement director. For Lobban, that kind of full-circle moment speaks to the impact she continues to make. “They told me I could do more and have a bigger impact on the world,” she recalled of her students.
The decision to leave teaching wasn’t easy. But Lobban found the strength to pursue her next chapter with the support of her family and her strong belief in purpose-driven living. Her husband, Dexton Lobban, shares her mission. “Together we will live an unshakable life built on service above self,” he said. “That’s what ‘Lobban legacy living’ is all about.”
Lobban’s journey began far from South Florida. She was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and raised in Orange, New Jersey. In 2004, she moved to Coral Springs and eventually found her calling in education. Teaching was never part of her original plan, but after watching her son struggle in school, she stepped into the classroom and discovered joy in helping children, especially those who needed extra support in reading.
That same sense of purpose now fuels her work beyond education. In addition to running her real estate and property management companies, Lobban serves as an empowerment coach for Habitat for Humanity of Broward, guiding first-time homeowners through major life transitions. She also volunteers with the Jamaican Women of Florida, helping mentor young women and encouraging them to pursue academic and professional goals. Drawing from her own experience at an Ivy League university, she offers guidance, encouragement, and real-life lessons to the next generation.
Her approach to life is simple but powerful: make one impact at a time. “I’m all about making a difference—not a big difference—just one impact at a time,” she said.
From a middle school classroom in Coconut Creek to a mission-driven life built in Coral Springs, Tamara Lobban continues to teach—but now in different ways. Through her work in real estate, community service, and education support, she’s building more than just a business—she’s building a legacy.
