City commission shares exciting plans for Coral Springs’ summer celebrations and events

Coral Springs, Florida – The City of Coral Springs is gearing up for a month packed with excitement, community bonding, and celebrations. July promises to be a month of fun-filled activities and festivities, bringing residents together to celebrate everything from the country’s independence to the city’s rich history and vibrant community spirit.

Reimagined Fourth of July Celebration

One of the major highlights this July is the City’s Fourth of July Celebration, set to take place on Friday, July 4, at Mullins Park. Starting at 5 p.m., this year’s event has been reimagined with a fresh layout designed to enhance the experience for attendees of all ages. The city has expanded the event area to include more space for games, entertainment, and interactive experiences, reflecting the growing popularity of this family-friendly gathering. Whether you’re there for the live music, variety of food trucks, or fun contests, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

A breathtaking fireworks display will light up the sky at 8:45 p.m., capping off the evening’s festivities. Admission and parking are free, and the city encourages residents to stay informed about traffic and weather updates by texting the keyword CSFIREWORKS to 888-777. The Fourth of July celebration promises to be a great way for the community to come together and enjoy a fun-filled evening under the stars.

Celebrating Coral Springs’ Birthday

The month also marks a significant milestone for the City of Coral Springs. July 10 marks the city’s 62nd birthday. For over six decades, Coral Springs has been committed to being a premier community for residents to live, work, and raise families. To celebrate this anniversary, the city invites residents to visit the Museum of Coral Springs History on Thursday, July 10, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. The event is designed to bring the community together to celebrate the city’s rich history and growth.

Families, as well as local summer camps, are encouraged to stop by for free goodie bags for kids, snacks, and fun activities. It’s a wonderful opportunity to explore Coral Springs’ historical roots and learn more about the city’s evolution over the years.

Coffee with a Cop

For those interested in fostering stronger relationships with local law enforcement, the City of Coral Springs will host “Coffee with a Cop” on Monday, July 14, at 8:30 a.m. at First Watch, located at 1750 N University Drive. This casual event offers a chance for residents to meet and engage with local officers in a relaxed setting. It’s an excellent opportunity to ask questions, discuss concerns, and strengthen community-police relations. Building a positive relationship between the community and law enforcement is a key goal for Coral Springs, and this event is one way to bridge that gap.

New Art Exhibition at the Museum of Art

The Coral Springs Museum of Art is also welcoming a new exhibition this month, “Style Masters: A Look at the Best of American Graffiti,” which will be on view from Friday, July 18, through Saturday, October 4. This exciting exhibition, in partnership with the Museum of Graffiti, will showcase the works of artists who have transformed public spaces into vibrant, thought-provoking masterpieces. The opening reception will take place on Friday, July 18, from 5 to 8 p.m. and is open to the public, free of charge. It promises to be an exciting and unique opportunity to experience the influence and evolution of graffiti as an art form.

Temporary Water Changes in Coral Springs

Residents should also be aware of some temporary changes to the city’s water system. From July 14 through July 28, Coral Springs’ Utilities & Engineering Division, in collaboration with Royal Waterworks, Coral Springs Improvement District, and North Springs Improvement District, will temporarily change their water chlorination method to align with Department of Environmental Protection recommendations. While the water will remain safe to drink, residents may notice a chlorine taste or odor in tap water. Additionally, water main flushing will occur daily between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., which could result in temporary discoloration or reduced water pressure. The city is advising residents to stay informed about these changes and any potential impacts.

Celebrating National Parks and Recreation Month

July is also recognized as National Parks and Recreation Month, and Coral Springs is celebrating the many opportunities the city provides to stay active and enjoy the outdoors. From its innovative playgrounds and competitive sports leagues to scenic walking and jogging trails, Coral Springs has something for everyone to enjoy. The city’s social media platforms will be highlighting various parks and recreational facilities throughout the month, offering a closer look at how they enhance the community’s quality of life.

For those looking to stay involved in the decision-making process, the next City Commission meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 6, at 9 a.m. These meetings are aired on CityTV, Blue Stream Channels 25, 25.7, and 725, and on AT&T U-Verse channel 99.
