Pompano Beach man arrested after breaking into several cars in a Coral Springs neighborhood during late-night spree

Coral Springs, Florida – A late-night series of car break-ins in a Coral Springs neighborhood ended with the arrest of a Pompano Beach man, thanks to residents’ surveillance systems and swift police action.

The incident took place in the early hours of June 24, when a homeowner on NW 78th Way was alerted by his Ring doorbell system just before 2:40 a.m. The system notified him of a person approaching his driveway. Upon checking the camera feed, the homeowner saw a man on his property and immediately contacted the Coral Springs Police Department.

As officers began investigating the situation, they uncovered more evidence from neighboring homes. One residence had captured footage of two individuals entering a parked car. According to police, one of the suspects opened the car’s driver-side door, while the other quickly fled the scene. Interestingly, the car had been left unlocked, but there was no sign that anything had been stolen.

Meanwhile, another resident reported suspicious activity involving his own vehicle. His surveillance system showed a man opening and closing the trunk of his car before fleeing westbound on 41st Street. At this point, it was clear that multiple break-ins had occurred, and the police intensified their search for the suspect.

Officers responded quickly and were able to find a man who matched the descriptions provided by the victims. The suspect was identified as 23-year-old Jahrion Sanders, a resident of Pompano Beach. He was detained near the area and brought in for questioning.

Both victims later positively identified Sanders as the man seen on their cameras. As a result, Sanders was charged with burglary of an unoccupied conveyance and burglary with intent to commit. He was booked into the Broward Main Jail, but later released on bond.

This incident highlights the growing role of home surveillance systems like Ring cameras in helping to solve crimes and protect neighborhoods. The quick responses from both the residents and the police helped to bring the suspect into custody within hours of the crimes taking place.

Coral Springs authorities continue to urge residents to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to law enforcement immediately. With ongoing developments in the case, police are also reminding citizens about the importance of securing their vehicles, particularly leaving nothing of value in plain sight, to deter future break-ins.

As for Sanders, he is now facing legal consequences for his actions, and his case will proceed through the judicial system. Coral Springs residents are left with a reminder of the importance of community vigilance and the growing power of modern technology in crime prevention.
