HCA Florida Northwest Hospital opens new women’s health facility in Lighthouse Point to expand coastal north Broward access

Lighthouse Point, Florida – HCA Florida Northwest Hospital has officially expanded its presence in coastal north Broward with the grand opening of the Institute for Women’s Health and Body, marking the hospital group’s first health facility in the area. The new location, situated at 2850 N. Federal Highway, Suite 300, Lighthouse Point, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony last week attended by hospital executives and community leaders.

“Several years ago we sat down and asked ourselves, how can we expand our reach? And this area really stuck out to us as a place that has great need for our community,” said CEO Kenneth Jones. His remarks highlighted the hospital’s strategy to bring specialized women’s healthcare services closer to residents in northern Broward, a region that has previously lacked easy access to comprehensive women’s care.

The Lighthouse Point facility is designed to serve as a convenient access point for routine women’s health services, while more complex procedures continue to be performed at HCA Florida Northwest Hospital in Margate. The center offers a broad range of OB/GYN and women’s health services, including ultrasounds, annual exams, birth control counseling, prenatal and postpartum care, fertility services, diagnostic testing, and minimally invasive procedures. Patients can also receive treatment for conditions such as endometriosis, fibroids, and urinary incontinence.

“Yes, it is a first planting of the flag,” Jones said, referring to HCA’s new presence along the coastal corridor from Pompano Beach through Lighthouse Point and Deerfield Beach. “But not every hospital offers obstetric services or higher acuity services. I feel like we can provide not only obstetrics and GYN services, but high-risk services with maternal fetal medicine, or with an OB-GYN residency. So it really is more about providing robust services that are not available anywhere else but at our facility in northern Broward County.”

The CEO emphasized that this milestone reflects the hospital’s commitment to delivering specialized care to areas that have been underserved, ensuring residents have access to high-quality services without traveling long distances. The Lighthouse Point facility represents a model of convenience and comprehensive care, particularly for women managing complex health needs or seeking preventive services in a single, local setting.

HCA Florida Northwest is already planning to expand its coastal presence further with a second facility. The hospital group purchased the former Diamond Strike Lanes bowling alley at 2200 North Federal Highway in Pompano Beach. The organization is currently seeking changes to zoning codes as a preliminary step toward city approval and construction of a freestanding emergency room, which would further enhance healthcare access along the coastal corridor.

Executives believe that these strategic moves reflect the hospital group’s long-term vision for northern Broward, balancing convenience, accessibility, and specialized care. By establishing a local footprint in Lighthouse Point, HCA Florida Northwest Hospital is not only addressing immediate healthcare needs but also laying the groundwork for additional facilities that will support the broader community.

The Institute for Women’s Health and Body is now welcoming patients, offering personalized care and advanced treatments aimed at improving health outcomes for women across Broward County. With this expansion, HCA Florida Northwest Hospital is setting a new standard for coastal healthcare, ensuring that residents have access to services once available only farther inland.
