Florida cities rank high on list of America’s Dirtiest Cities for 2023

A new report has identified the dirtiest cities in America as of 2023, and the results are far from flattering. While some cities boast clean air, tidy streets, and sparkling infrastructure, others have earned a reputation for being downright dirty.

The report, compiled by LawnStarter, compared hundreds of the largest U.S. cities across four categories: pollution, living conditions, infrastructure, and resident satisfaction. The results are in, and two different cities in Florida are among the dirtiest.

At number 18 on the list is the city of Hollywood, which earned an overall score of 44.22. Fort Lauderdale followed closely behind at number 20 with an overall score of 43.69. While both of these cities are known for their beautiful beaches and sunny skies, they appear to be struggling with cleanliness and maintenance. With the high influx of tourists during peak seasons, factors such as polluted waterways, pest infestations, and poor air quality could play a significant role in their rankings.

However, it’s Houston, TX, that tops the list with an overall score of 56.02, making it the dirtiest city in America. With pollution, infrastructure, and living conditions all weighing heavily on the final score, it’s clear that Houston has some work to do to clean up its act.

The list includes a total of 150 cities, each with its own unique set of challenges when it comes to keeping the environment clean and healthy for residents and visitors alike. If you’re curious about the other cities on the list, you can view the full report at the link provided here.
