Aunt held her 4-year-old nephew confined in a room for “misbehaving” and laughed when she forced him to drink water from the toilet, beat him with a broom and a cord inflicting сutѕ and bruiѕeѕ all over his face before attempting to blame the toddler’s 9-year-old sister for his death; sentenced!

According to court records, a 55-year-old woman, identified as Yolanda, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison following her guilty plea to manslaughter in the death of her 4-year-old nephew, King.

Originally, the charges were also extended to King’s 9-year-old sister, but the District Attorney’s Office, through its communications director, Tara, stated that these charges were withdrawn. The young girl was found to have had no part in the fatal incident. In a turn of events, Yolanda confessed to the crime, thus exonerating her niece from any blame she had previously cast upon her. The 4-year-old died as a result of a broom beating, according to reports.

The condition of the 4-year-old boy, King, at the time of the discovery was shocking. A responding officer said that the child was found cold to the touch, lying on his back with a pink towel covering his face. The officer noted visible bruiѕing under King’s eyes, a cut on his nose, сutѕ to his lips, and other signs of abuse, including old ѕсarring. The investigation revealed a pattern of abuse, with a 6-year-old relative witnessing Yolanda slapping and whipping King with a belt on multiple occasions. Further distressing details emerged, portraying a gruesome picture of the treatment King endured. Yolanda had even denied the child water because of potty accidents and reportedly laughed when he resorted to drinking from the toilet, saying, “That’s what he gets.”

Yolanda used various tools to abuse King, including a back scratcher, a broom, and an electrical cord. Following the trial, Yolanda was immediately incarcerated. She was out on bond while waiting for her sentencing. She will start her sentence right away, with credit for time already served.
