Mother relocated to another state with her boyfriend and left her young child unattended for a month during the winter in a home filled with trash and rotten food, with no heat, gas, or hot water; arrested!

According to authorities, a 45-year-old woman, identified as Tiffani, was arrested for neglecting her child by leaving them to live in inadequate conditions. She moved to another state with her partner, leaving the child to fend for themselves.

The situation came to light on January 12, when the police received a report of a child living unattended. Upon conducting a welfare check, an officer found that the child had been on their own for around a month. Tiffani, the mother, had made only a single unannounced return visit and communicated with the child only through the Messenger app.

According to the police, the home was found to be lacking in essential utilities such as heat, gas, and hot water. To keep warm, the child used a space heater in their bedroom. Responding officers said the living conditions in the home were deplorable. The home was filled with garbage and rotten food. Tiffani had occasionally transferred money via CashApp for the child to buy basic supplies. The child relied on a relative for basic needs such as showering, washing clothes, and grocery shopping. The police also noted that the child sometimes struggled to attend school due to the difficulty of waking up alone in the morning.

Following the investigation, a warrant for Tiffani’s arrest was issued. She was taken into custody by authorities and is currently being held in the county jail awaiting extradition. Tiffani is charged with child endangerment and has yet to be formally arraigned for the offense.
