Business owners in Coral Springs are committed to fostering health and happiness within their community

Coral Springs, Florida – Seven years ago, Elizabeth and Glen Redway embarked on the dream vacation they had anticipated for 25 years—a long-awaited honeymoon in Aruba.

Instead of enjoying the moment, Elizabeth found herself filled with concern. Glen, her husband, struggled with persistent fatigue, finding it difficult to engage in even the most basic tasks.

“He constantly felt drained,” Elizabeth remembered. “I realized that a change was necessary.”

A personal journey to restore Glen’s health has evolved into a successful venture for the couple residing in Coconut Creek, who are also the co-owners of Darby’s Florist in Coral Springs.

Elizabeth, 54, and Glen, 61, are now independent certified Optavia coaches. They assist individuals in reaching their health and wellness objectives by offering tailored programs focused on weight loss, nutrition, and sustainable habits.

Optavia presents itself as a lifestyle program focused on weight loss, characterized by low carbohydrate intake and reduced calorie consumption, as stated on their website.

Initially, when Elizabeth brought up the concept of Optavia to Glen, it required two months of persuasion before he was willing to engage in a conversation with a coach.

In a remarkable transformation over just four months, Glen shed 57 pounds and has successfully maintained his weight loss since then.

“I had no idea how much I was being held back until I shed the pounds,” Glen remarked. “At 61, I feel significantly better than I did in my 40s.” I feel full of energy and no longer fatigued.

Motivated by Glen’s achievements, Elizabeth made the choice to enroll in the program as well.
After years of effort, she finally achieved the results she had been pursuing, shedding 20 pounds in the process.

The couple now draws on their own experiences to guide and support others.

“Throughout the years, we’ve likely coached between 150 and 200 clients,” Elizabeth stated.
“We begin with an evaluation to grasp their health objectives, as this is not a universal program.”
Regardless of whether an individual aims to shed a considerable amount of weight or simply seeks to enhance their nutritional intake, we customize our approach to meet their specific requirements.

Their coaching encompasses much more than simply shedding pounds. They highlight the importance of staying hydrated, getting enough sleep, and engaging in healthy physical activity, while also offering continuous support and accountability.

“The presence of a coach truly transforms the experience,” Elizabeth remarked. “We assist clients by modifying their nutrition and ensuring they remain focused on their goals.”

Glen finds the program’s emphasis on sustainability to be the most fulfilling aspect.

“Shedding the pounds is just part of the struggle,” he remarked. “While it can be difficult to keep up, this program provides guidance on how to uphold those changes.”

A standout success story featured a vegetarian client facing challenges with protein consumption.
Thanks to the Redways’ support, she achieved her health objectives and experienced significant enhancements in her lab results.

“Her labs had never been better,” Elizabeth remarked. “Such moments serve as a powerful reminder of our purpose.”
