Lakeside shooting incident Friday morning force deputies to evacuate whole area
LAKESIDE, Fla. – The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says that on Friday morning, deputies surrounded a home on Sandy Hollow Loop in the Lakeside area after reports of gunfire. Other homes in the neighborhood were also evacuated.
Deputies said they were called to the area off College Drive south of Old Jennings Road after someone said “someone was firing a gun on that block.”
Then, they set up a perimeter around a house and called SWAT to come help.
Residents of other homes on Sandy Hollow Loop were taken to St. Johns River State College at 283 College Dr. by SWAT teams.
Deputies said that people who live on Sandy Hollow Loop and have family on that street can meet their relatives at the college.
(2/2) Swat personnel are on scene and will begin evacuating residents from Sandy Hollow Loop and will be taking them to St. John’s River State College located at 283 College Dr.
Residents who have family on Sandy Hollow Loop can meet their family members there.
