Residents evacuated after an apartment building fire in Hollywood

Hollywood, Florida – A fire erupted inside an apartment building in Hollywood, prompting a swift response from fire rescue crews on Monday.

The incident unfolded shortly before 6 p.m., near Ocean Drive and Jefferson Street, where firefighters rushed to combat the flames. Officials reported that the fire originated in the kitchen of a unit on the ninth floor of the building. This sudden blaze necessitated immediate action to ensure the safety of the building’s residents.

In the wake of the fire, residents were ordered to evacuate the building as a precautionary measure. The situation was intense enough that two individuals suffered from smoke inhalation. Among them, one person required further medical attention and was subsequently taken to the hospital.

An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire. Authorities are looking into various possibilities to ascertain what might have sparked the blaze in the apartment’s kitchen.
