The gator that attacked and killed elderly woman in St. Lucie County was captured by the officials

ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Florida — The alligator that killed an elderly woman on Monday in St. Lucie County has been caught.

At the time of the attack, the woman was thought to have been near water.

People who saw what happened said that the woman was walking her dog along a canal when the alligator grabbed the dog.

When the woman tried to help, the alligator grabbed her instead.

The body of the 85-year-old woman was found at the Spanish Lakes Fairways, which is known as a place for older people to live.

Soon after, trappers caught the alligator.

The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office said that the alligator was about 11 feet long.

The dog was saved because of what the woman did.
