Man used the absence of his 4 children while they were at school to shoot his wife of 18 years twice in the head, leaving the children without a mother, before going to the police station and confessing to the horrific crime he committed

Authorities said a 41-year-old man identified as Anthony is currently in custody facing serious charges in connection with the alleged murder of his 37-year-old wife, identified as Anna, with whom he had been married for 18 years and had four children together. The motive behind this tragic case that unfolded rapidly from confession to arrest has not been shared by authorities.

Authorities became aware of the incident when Anthony walked into the police department and made a startling confession. He admitted to shooting his wife twice in the head while their children were at school and described the gun that he used as well as the location within the home where the horrific crime happened, facts later confirmed by police and medical examiners. Following his confession, Anthony was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon.

The confession led police officers to the family’s home, where they found 37-year-old Anna Wessel dead with two apparent gunshot wounds to her head. According to reports, the tragic incident occurred inside the family’s residence, with no other occupants besides Anthony and Anna present at the time. As per reports, their children are now in the care of their aunt and uncle. Information regarding the children’s ages wasn’t shared.

The first responders’ quick action was crucial in securing the scene and beginning the investigation as they attempted to piece together the events leading to Anna’s death. The motive behind the murder has not been made public. Medical examiners performed an autopsy, and they determined that two gunshot wounds to the head were the cause of death. A GoFundMe campaign was also launched to provide financial support to the family during this challenging time.

Anthony is due back in court on November 21. As the investigation into this case is still ongoing, authorities are asking anyone with information related to this case to step forward.
