Coral Springs invites families to enjoy April Pools Day while learning important water safety skills

Coral Springs, Florida – The City of Coral Springs is making waves with its fun and educational April Pools Day event, set for Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Coral Springs Aquatic Complex, located at 12441 Royal Palm Blvd.

Geared toward promoting life-saving water safety practices in a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere, the event invites residents of all ages to dive into a variety of hands-on activities aimed at preventing water-related accidents.

Families are encouraged to come dressed in their swimsuits, ready to enjoy open access to the pool facilities and water park throughout the day. Alongside the splashy fun, the event packs in real-life knowledge. Attendees can try out CPR on practice dummies, take part in engaging water safety games, and watch demonstrations that teach crucial ways to keep homes and backyards safe, especially for young children.

“April Pools Day is a great opportunity for families to learn about water safety while enjoying time together at the pool,” organizers said. “We want to remind everyone that drowning is preventable, and with the right education and tools, we can keep our community safe.”

As an added bonus, participants will have the chance to win prizes and enjoy live music while also signing up for swim lesson vouchers—an important step in building swimming confidence and safety awareness from an early age.

The Coral Springs Aquatic Complex has long been a hub for community events, and April Pools Day is no exception. The initiative aligns with the city’s broader mission to reduce the risk of drownings, particularly as Florida continues to report high numbers of child drownings each year.

The event is free and open to the public, making it an easy and meaningful way for families to start the spring season with safety in mind. Whether you’re a parent, a grandparent, or simply someone who enjoys the water, the message is clear—learning water safety saves lives.

Don’t forget your towel and sunscreen—April Pools Day is shaping up to be both a celebration and an important reminder that a little preparation can make a big difference.
